International & Local Partnerships
The Centre for Instructional Innovation and Mathematical Resilience (CIIMR) is founded on strong international and local partnerships that enhance research quality, methodological rigor and global relevance. These collaborations support joint research, conceptual development and the co-design of culturally responsive interventions addressing mathematics anxiety.
Faculty of Education & Resources Development – Host institution anchoring CIIMR’s research, capacity building and regional impact initiatives.
Professor Sue Johnston-Wilder – International partner and globally recognised scholar whose pioneering work on mathematics anxiety and innovative pedagogy underpins CIIMR’s research agenda.
Professor Rosalind Weir McLellan – International partner advancing research on mathematical resilience, learner identity and confidence in mathematics education.
Operational support is provided by Dr. Harrison Njaru Mbogo, University of Cambridge, a specialist in mathematical anxiety and resilience, who coordinates research activities, knowledge exchange and institutional engagement.
Through CIIMR, Chuka University joins Global Mathematical Resilience Network, launched in 2022.
The network supports academic and practitioner research applying the Mathematical Resilience Framework to address mathematics anxiety and foster positive learner identities.
